About Erin

Erin Bingham's story doesn't start with privilege. It starts with grit.

She was born in Southern Alberta to an American father and a Canadian mother. Her family moved to the United States when she was three, and she grew up in Utah. Money was tight. Her parents never graduated from college, but they taught her the value of showing up, working hard, and never expecting a handout.

Erin dreamed of going to college. In 1996, she moved to Idaho to attend Ricks College in Rexburg and it was there she met Val Bingham, an Idaho farm boy from the small town of Dayton. They married and spent the next eight years pursuing their education across Utah, Texas, and Missouri. With no financial help from family, they worked hard, earned scholarships, secured Pell grants, and took out student loans. Erin graduated with a degree in Accounting.

Building Something from Nothing

When Val finished his dental residency, most people would have looked for an existing practice to join. Erin saw an opportunity. She wrote a business plan and a 15-page loan proposal, secured the funding herself, and helped launch a practice from scratch. For the next twelve years, she ran the business: budgeting, accounting, tax planning, marketing, and building a team. Today, that practice has grown into a group of seven doctors.

In 2018, Erin stepped back to avoid any conflict of interest when Val merged his practice to create a group practice. She redirected her focus to Bingham Ventures, the family's real estate and development company, where she currently serves as CFO.

Serving Idaho Now

On January 9, 2026, Governor Brad Little appointed Erin to serve as State Representative for District 32, the seat previously held by Wendy Horman. She hit the ground running. From her first days in the Legislature, Erin has been engaged in the issues that matter most to Bonneville County families: balancing the state budget, protecting education funding, and keeping the cost of living manageable for Idaho families.

She is not waiting to learn the job. She is already doing it.

Rooted in This Community

Erin and Val have been married 27 years. They live south of Idaho Falls on seven acres with horses, cows, goats, sheep, and chickens.

Together they have raised four children, all of whom have competed in reining, a western-style equestrian discipline, at local, regional, and national levels. In 2024, their son Luke won a National and World Title in the Limited Non-Pro category. He graduated in 2025 and is now serving a mission for their church. Their youngest daughter, McKenna, still competes.

While raising her family, Erin stayed involved in the community, working in classrooms, serving as PTO President, running a school bond campaign, supporting sports fundraising, and serving on the board of the Idaho Reining Horse Association.

Why She Wants to Continue Serving in the Legislature

Erin pledged when she was appointed that she would run for re-election to make sure District 32 has a voice in Boise. That pledge still stands.

She knows what it means to stretch a dollar, build something from nothing, and work toward a better future. She brings that same determination to the Idaho Legislature every day. District 32 deserves a representative who is ready on day one. Erin already is.

"I pledged when I ran for the vacancy that I would run for
re-election to make sure our local residents have a voice."

Erin is your representative right now.
She is not waiting to get to work. She is already there.
